FMF 2019
The third edition of the Freetown Music Festival was dedicated to creative collaborations between national and international performers. The Music Week resulted in Sierra Leonean-Icelandic-UK music collabs that were performed at the festival.
The festival grew in size and impact. Over 10.000 people visited the two-day festival with 25 artists. This edition also gave the stage to youth platforms to reach new audiences and discuss social issues. Entry fees were kept at a low- less than a dollar to keep the festival affordable.

FMF 2017
The second Freetown Music Festival made a statement! The festival is moved its focus towards young people, intending to use the event as a platform for the creative youth of Sierra Leone. Up and coming musicians from youth organisation WAY OUT performed on the main stage, and BRIDGE PROJECT, another Freetown youth focused organisation organised a pop-up fashion show.
The live music component of this edition had Freetown vibing to afrobeat, soca, hip hop, fusion, high life, and reggae for two days. This year’s dance competition also featured more dacners from the eastend of Freetown. National and international press covered the event, which was visited by over 5.000 people.

FMF 2016
The first edition of the Freetown Music Festival celebrated Sierra Leone’s musical and creative talents. With the 100% live line-up, the festival set a country-wide example for quality performances. Supported by live music band Freetown Uncut, our artists practiced their performance skills for six weeks leading up the festival.
The entry fee was 5.000SLL (less than a dollar) per day, enabling visitors from all over the country to enjoy Sierra Leone’s finest artists. Over 2.000 people visited the two-day festival, which had two live music stages, a food and drinks area, film screenings by human rights film organisation Opin Yu Yi, and an arts and crafts market.
